California// Coastal Elopement
What started off as a styled session turned into an actual intimate elopement for these two. Mo and Meggan had gotten married the previous weekend with a small backyard wedding ceremony. It worked out that I was looking for a couple to be part of this elopement I was dreaming up. It was a true God aligning memory for these two.
This was a special moment for Mo and Meggan when they realized how relaxed yet exciting it was to get dressed in their wedding attire again and have the afternoon focused on the two of them! Though they loved their backyard micro wedding, a wedding day can get overwhelming by the schedule and go by so fast, especially come time for the romantics (which is common for any wedding ) they said it felt like they were getting married all over again and loved that they could cherish this day with just themselves. Meggan surprised Mo with some vows after I asked him to share what he was most proud of Meggan for. It was a heartfelt and romantic moment. We brought champagne and really created the occasion to celebrate their love.
As the fog rolled in for the evening it made for a perfect romantic moody setting. In addition there was hardly anyone in site! We had the music playing and I got Mo and Meggan to run around, pop champagne and lastly play in the ocean! It was a memory that will last a life time.
This made me realize that every wedding day is different and there are so many ways to celebrate your love together. Undoubtedly having portraits taken the day of your wedding is special, but I think booking an after Wedding Day session can really be an amazing experience.
• You get to pick a beautiful location (a chance to get amazing portraits all dressed up again)
• More time for the two of you to take in the moment (wedding day portraits go so fast and you are tired from the hustle of the day)
• You already did all the hard work! (You did all the planning, details, mingled with family and are married!)
Now you get to dream up a beautiful afternoon with you and your partner! Which can look like getting hair and makeup done again, renting some florals and planning to solidify your love with some handwritten promises. Or dressing up again and exploring the mountains, or renting an incredibly cool car for the weekend.
The beauty is, booking an after wedding day part II session can be whatever you want it to be. In turn you will get some killer fun photographs to post up all over your home and a memory for a lifetime.
